Carly Rae Jepsen 'cover' Call Me Lochte is Olympic rivalry spoof

THERE is no escaping singer Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe — it has now even spawned an Olympic-themed spoof.

The creators of the clip are poking fun at the rivalry between US swimmers Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.

Clearly coming down on the side of new kid on the block Lochte, a bespectacled singer croons: “I’m in a personal hell, I kind of hate Michael Phelps, I wish he’d drown in a well. That dude is in my way.

“When I first saw that guy swim, he got nothing but wins, I could’ve sworn he had fins. But now he’s in my way.”

The clip comes hot on the heels of Lochte’s gold and silver medal wins.

The footage, from NOC, could be a bit galling to the 14-time Olympic champion, who has bagged just one silver medal so far.

But we’re sure he’s a good sport.
