Down syndrome girl becomes first to star in fashion campaign

Ten-month-old Valentina Guerrero will be on the cover of the Dolores Cortes US catalogue and star in the designer’s 2013 DC Kids ads.

It is the first time a person with the condition is the main model in a major fashion campaign.

And Valentina, from Miami, Florida, has already had a big catwalk moment — being carried down one by the designer herself.

In a statement about the move, Cortes said: “People with Down syndrome are just as beautiful and deserve the same opportunities.

“I’m thrilled to have Valentina modelling for us.”
