CHARLOTTE Church buries memories of her opera roots by rocking out in Brighton.
The Welsh starlet has undergone another reinvention, this time choosing distorted guitars over orchestral strings.
Having dipped her toes into the dance scene earlier this century, Charlotte’s now lending her trademark warble to heavier, rockier tunes.
And to hammer the point home, she opted for a punky outfit that included a top adorned with pointy studs and black boots.
Charlotte gave it plenty of rock chick welly as she tried to convince the cynics who still remember her as an 11-year-old girl singing Pie Jesu.
Despite its tiny size and basic stage and lighting, the Green Door Store played host to a woman who’s as eager to impress today as she was during her childhood.
On its listings page, the club called on prospective gig-goers to “leave your preconceptions at the door”.
Enticing punters to pay the £12 entry fee, the venue's flyer read: “Be amongst the first to witness the latest and most exciting reincarnation of the former child star.
“Charlotte Church hits Green Door Store with her bold and unique new sound, creating vast musical landscapes with big drums, big guitars and a voice that has sold over 10 million records.”
