Full moon forms sixth Olympic Ring in spectacular Tower Bridge snap

AS the Olympic athletes put on a show yesterday, the moon staged a dazzling display of its own.

A full moon tinged with red, rose through Tower Bridge’s Olympic Rings, briefly forming a unique sixth Ring on the London skyline.

The stunning snap was uploaded to Twitter and retweeted thousands of times, making “Tower Bridge” one of the top trends on the social media site this morning.

One Twitter user commented: “Best Olympic picture”, while another quipped: “LOCOG isn’t going to like this”.

The Games organiser Logoc sparked outrage when they banned unofficial displays of Olympic logos, including the Olympic Rings.

We told you back in May about a florist from Stoke whose window display had to come down because it showed the rings made of tissue paper.

And even London Mayor Boris Johnson slammed the “brand army” after a bakery was raided for displaying five BAGELS in the shape of the Olympic rings.

But this lunar 'logo' is enough to make Team GB over the moon!
