LL Cool J ‘breaks intruder’s nose and jaw after catching him in LA mansion’

RAPPER-turned-actor LL Cool J is said to have broken the nose and jaw of a man who broke into his LA mansion.

The Mama Said Knock You Out star was reported to have injured the suspected intruder in what Los Angeles police called a "knock-down, drag-out" fight early yesterday morning.

And by the time the cops arrived, the 44-year-old is said to have detained suspect Jonathan Kirby, 56, who has a record of previous thefts.

Cool J - who was unhurt - told police he had gone to investigate a noise in the kitchen when he had been attacked.

The rapper - who plays a former Navy SEAL in TV show NCIS Los Angeles - said he was concerned for the safety of his family.

His spokesman was quoted as saying: "LL Cool J, and his family, are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern.

"As a father, husband and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is co-operating with authorities on this private matter."

LL Cool J stands for Ladies Love Cool James, but the rapper's real name is James Todd Smith.
