Coronation Street: Alan Halsall says fans will warm to abusive Kirsty

CORRIE’S Alan Halsall thinks viewers are starting to warm to his abusive on-screen missus.

Alan – unlucky-in-love mechanic Tyrone Dobbs – said fans were shocked when mum-to-be Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) first smacked his character.

But now he reckons people feel sorry for her.

He said: “Initially they said, ‘Get rid of her!’ But now they’ve got to know Kirsty, they can see past the violence. They’ve started to empathise with her circumstances.”
