Magician Dynamo says he will help Team GB get gold medals

MAGICIAN Dynamo is heading to the Olympic Village in a bid to conjure up some gold medals for Team GB.

The TV star — who walked on water across the River Thames — hopes a quick visit to our athletes’ digs can inspire London 2012 success.

He said: “I’m going down to the Olympic Village. I’ve met quite a few of the athletes. I did the Olympic Ball last year and did some magic with the Olympians.

“Hopefully, I can work some magic so we can win gold medals. But if that happens, I’m not taking any credit — it’s the athletes out there.” Following the success of his latest series of Dynamo: Magician Impossible, the Bradford-born star — real name Steven Frayne — says he hopes to make the switch to big-budget US movies.

He said: “I’ve been to Hollywood a few times and I’d love to get involved with something, but it has to be something that fits.”

Dynamo also admitted he draws ideas from movies and says the new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises is a rich source at the moment.

He said: “Every night I’m watching films — I get inspiration from them. I’ll see things like special effects and think ‘Wow, that’s amazing. I wonder if I can do that without using special effects’.

“I’m a massive Batman fan and I got to go to the premiere.

“Batman is known for walking up and down walls and flying here and there, so he’s definitely been a big inspiration.”
