Javier Hernandez will be better this season, says Alex Ferguson

ALEX FERGUSON reckons Javier Hernandez will come back recharged and ready to set the Premier League alight this season.

The Manchester United ace, 24, had an outstanding debut campign in 2010-11 with 20 goals but could not hit the same heights last term.

Hernandez has had an extended rest period this summer after United withdrew him from Mexico’s Olympic team and Fergie believes the striker will be better for it.

The Scot said: “I think this season we’ll see a better Chicharito.

“For the last four or five years he’s played all through the summer. This year, with the co-operation of Mexico, he’s had a proper rest.

“We wanted to give him as much rest as possible. He had a couple of weeks off and then joined the Mexico side for a couple of qualifying games before getting another few weeks’ rest.

“That was important for him and I’m sure he’ll reap the benefits.

"We’ve already seen the fruits of that in the early training sessions and I think he’ll have a top season.”
