Plane crashes after clipping power line

COCKPIT footage show the moment a plane clips a power line, sending it crashing to the ground.

The single-engine aircraft was attempting to land in Ida Township, 40 miles southwest of Detroit when the accident happened on Sunday night.

Miraculously, the 84-year-old pilot and his grandson co-pilot escaped with only minor injuries after the plane was sent nosediving into the corn field north of the runway.

The co-pilot managed to record the crash from the cockpit, but the screen goes black upon impact and the only sounds are the crew shouting for help.

Some power outages were reported as a result of the crash.
